mercedesengines.net... Anyone use them for a head rebuild?

http://www.mercedesengines.net/head_rebuild.htm

On a M103, $475 for a complete head rebuild job with new valves, etc. Seems pretty good.

Anyone have any experience with them?

Thanks,

Metric Motors has quite a good reputation for a quality product.

I also need to find someone to do the 617 head.

The only issue with them is the shipping from the Northeast out to California and back. This is likely to add $300. to the price

I don't think I want to trust a head to UPS or any of the package delivery services. This leaves the LTL carriers which are quite costly.

BTW, you don't get any new valves for that price.

I did notice that after my post. Thanks.

I had no idea shipping would be so much. That stinks.

You should ask them for advice on shipping - they probably have some arrangement that would make it much cheaper.

Well, it is Sunday. I'd expect to hear from them in a day or two. I wrote them an email last night.
