E280 Car alarm as standard?
 

I've just bought an E280 (1995) and it has remote central locking.
I don't know much about these cars but has it got an alarm on it as standard (if it has i haven't heard it so how can i activate it?) or will i require one.
If it needs an alarm then can it be installed alongside the central locking i.e all on the one remote or would it require a seperate remote meaning i have to carry two about?

to see if it has the alarm, leave the drivers window down and lock the doors with the key, wait a few seconds and open the door by pulling up the door lock knob and then the normal handle, the alarm should sound, if it doesn't wait a few more minutes after locking and try again. if it has a working alarm this should cause it to sound. to turn it off, lock and unlock the doors it should go off.
