Ali,

I drove the car to work today and didn't feel anything but I usually don't feel it unless I'm going @ 35 mph....I sure hope this cured my problem. I did feel it slightly last night but I haven't had any violent vibrations yet. I still think it's the lock-up clutch....and my mechanic believes it could be also, he said he just doesn't want to start tearing things apart with no positive proof. There are still no codes showing up......very strange

Kebowers,

Thanks for the post, I'm not one to use additives in my tranny though. I've seen too many transmission go out or develope massive leaks after using these things. I do appreciate your willingness to help though! :)

The shift linkage could be out of adjustment or the range switch is defective, shifter. There is a slight possibility this may be your torque converter problem. If code 114 reappears with the “CAN” codes let your tech fix the 114 code first as this is most likely the cause of the “CAN” codes.

C32,

I was just reading through this again (i'm still having this problem). If I were to have the bushings changed could this possibly cure my problem ? Being that the transmission doesn't know what gear it's in wouldn't it have a hard time knowing at what point to apply lock-up clutch pressure?? Just a thought...

Thanks again,

In your above post you say there are no codes, what fixed the 114 code. It the linkage feels loose fix that problem. Will it solve your torque converter shutter, I don’t know.

A good indicator of a transmission failure is the data of the adaptive values. If you can get a print out, it will tell you the condition of the transmission.

C32,

Thanks for your reply, I did not follow you previous post. The transmission has never been cured of this problem. These were the codes that were present when checked out several months earlier. The car is actually in the shop as we speak getting a reseal behind the timing cover. I am having my mechanic pull the codes in the transmission again to see what he can find. From the research I have done it looks as if replacing the TCU may cure the problem. If he think it will, he is going to go ahead and replace it. He is charging me 390$ for an upper timing cover reseal. I thought that sounded pretty fair.
