What kind of glass are MB headlights?

What type of glass is used in the headlight lenses of MB cars? I mean are they quartz, borosilicate, heck even Pyrex. I don’t know, I’m just making stuff up.

I’d assume there is one type of glass that is universal for this application across all brands of cars as the technology is, or was the same before free-form halogen reflectors were invented.

I'm almost certain that they are borosilicate (Pyrex).

This is a good FYI for anyone interested in doing a xenon or bixenon conversion to their car.

Depends on what model. Some early W210's actually have yellowing plastic headlight lenses as I am sure a few others have as well.
