should I remove this tape or leave it?
this is my air intake and it has a hole on the top (maybe the part is missing)
http://www.embeddedway.net/temp/air.jpg I placed some duct tape over it but I have no idea if that's a good idea So should I keep the tape or leave it? |
I think that would allow dirty air right into your intake system which would be a problem. Perphaps something goes there? A rubber grommett or something? But don't leave it open because dirt is bad!

That's where you access the mixture screw. There should be a rubber grommet in place which seals this area to keep dirty air from entering the "clean" side of the air filter. It just seals the perimeter of the hole, there is STILL a "hole" in this grommet to access the mixture screw so it can be properly adjusted with the air cleaner assm in place. SHOULD be able to buy just this grommet. You also need to get nuts put on those studs which are visible in those pictures, otherwise dirty air will pass through those holes too!

anybody knows the part number for the rubber?

I have the nuts but I was just lazy putting them on cose I didn't know about the dirt... thanks |
what size are those wing nuts, my car is missing them after an emissions test which required lots of adjustments to the air/fuel mixture :(
should washers be used too? |

I did use washers but may not be necessary. |
