What is the consensus on a fair price for a new radiator, including installation? My radiator is apparently leaking some fluid from one of the plastic tanks. Given that the car has just over 100,000 miles, I figure it is time to replace it. I understand that the tank might be able to be repaired, but also know that since I plan on keeping the car for a long time, replacement is a better option.

Just hoping to figure out a ballpark price. Also, is there anything else I should consider doing at the same time? Thanks.

Hi:
I can't help you with the pricing info, but about a year ago someone posted on the board about all aluminum radiators available through http://www.fluidyne.com/ . They said it was superior to the stock unit, and eliminated any trace of hot running, if I recall. Hope this helps.

Retail is $420. for new factory radiator. Repair of OE radiator never works more than 9-12 months.

Thanks for all the replies! I can figure it out from here.

Hey MBDOC

Is it from personal experience when you say that repairing an OE radiator wlll only buy you another year at most?
I have a 94 S350D and it has a leak and wondering if I should have it boiled out and soldered for $125 or purchase a new Nissen for $300? I don't want to spend $400 and change for a Behr

aluminum radiators

I "felt a tingle go up my leg" when I saw the website for all aluminum radiators. When I looked at the site there was no mention of Mercedes. Mostly American and Asian cars. :(

No reason to get one of those....if everything else is in order, you don't need anything better than a nice brand new Behr or Nissens (my personal preference) radiator.
