naphtolen/paladinol slide fluid
The manual says use this slide fluid (not grease) to ease installation of rubber subframe bushings ect. what is this stuff and where can i get it or is there a substitute?
btw-nothing came up on searches for this. |
Wow, still no answer?? I was reading the 123 Service manual today as well and it calls for Naphtolen/Paladinol "slide fluid" for almost EVERY suspension bushing job.
What the heck is it referring to? Btw, I couldn't find anything at all on google or anywhere else referencing this stuff. (Except for this thread) |
I use PAM kitchen spray as vegetable base oils won't hurt rubber.

Sil-Glyde works. Dish soap works.

Woah, this is interesting - I used some fresh veggie oil to rub down some of the underside of my 240D while I was inspecting the undercoat and I wondered if any of the “rustproofers” our there use a veggie based oil coating because it might prevent the problem of rubber swelling? That would be because the veggie isn’t petroleum based though, right? So it’s essentially “rubber safe,” right? If so, I know what’s going on the underside of my car!! rubber assembly fluid, alcohol based fluid that dries without residue so the seal stays in place https://www.genuinemercedesparts.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-sliding-fluid-0009890367 |
