Seat Belt Warning Light Remains On All The Time
1989 300E
I attempted to address this issue some time ago and have not found a resolution as yet. My seatbelt warning light does not blink but remains steadily on even when the ignition is turned off. I have attempted to do a search in the archives without success. Additionally, I have also attempted to confer with tech manuals etc without finding the possible cause for this. Doe it mean that the unit is defective or perhaps the switch for the door is defective. How would one trouble shoot? Thank you in advance for any feedback. |

Unexpected solution
When I brought my car in to the MB mechanic on a non-related issued, I pointed this problem regarding the seat belt light remaining on all the time. When I picked up the car I did not think further about it until I parked the car in the garage. The problem seemed to have been resolved. I looked down at the storage tray between the seats to find 2 lightbulbs for the ovehead light (seatbelts only). The solution seems to be that simple - remove the bulbs. This does not affect the operation of the courtesy lights.
Hope this will end your frustation. |
