W201: brakes upgrade
I would like to know which mercedes rotors/calipers will fit onto a 1985 W201 with 17" AMG style rims. I know that the only thing is to stay away from the 500E alloy calipers... anything else I should be aware of?
Do the AMG style rims provide enough room for most (if not all?) calipers? I do not want to get rid of the rims. Only problem would be trying to find the rotors and calipers... and if they are available, price would be a concern. So I'm thinking if it's worth doing a custom setup (yes, I'm up for it) with supra rotors with porsche/brembo calipers - providing they fit within the rims. Extra info: - W201 (formerly a 2.0L-8v) - AMG style rims (http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/51/50502/amg_mb-1.jpg) |
Convert to 400E calipers/rotors. It the easiest brake upgrade. Go to 2phast.com for more information.

If you're not familiar already...
You should check out 190revolution.net for tons of 190 specific material.

Ahh - thanks. I think I went to the wrong 190e site that looked pretty much dead. They always seem to change domains every year or so, heh.
