Does someone know if the resistance values for the air intake temperature sensors are the same for both the CIS and the EZL sensors? I can`t seem to find the EZL resistance chart. The values I am seeing are significantly different (2200 vs 290 ohms). How much does the EZL effect a change in the ignition in terms of retarding the timing? (degrees?). Thank you. Tinker

Guess you are talking 16V as its the only car with both sensors. Plastic sensor for the FUEL system should read around 6k ohm at 32F 1.5k ohm at 70F. The 3-wire brass sensor IS ELECTRONIC & sends info to EZL . At intake temps above 72F the timing will be retarded.

M.B. Doc,
Yes it is a 16V. The plastic two wire CIS sensor appears close to the specs provided in the factory CD. But the resistance values for the three wire EZL sensor is substantially different. That is the one I am curious about. Are the two values suppose to be similar? Do you know what the resistance range is suppose to be for that sensor. Thank you. Tinker |
Had to re-read info on that sensor, only test I could find is for timing at 4000 rpm to drop 10deg when the wire is disconnected. As this isn't a normal resistor no data is given on values.

Thanks Doc.
