oxygen sensor question?
Lately my 380 sl gas milage has been cut in half. Also, when I restart the car it runs rough for about 2 minutes and puts out black exaust in the same time then it runs normal. Anyone have any thoughts on this and also where is the oxygen sensor located in the exaust system
|
When was the last tune-up performed ?
At this point I would ignore the oxygen sensor ( located in the exhaust system ), as it has very little or no effect on the basic fuel mixture, until the engine is warmed up. Note: This is a simplified explanation. ;) |
Hi,
have an ear to the frequency valve under the breather. You can also touch it and feel the buzz. If it's dead check the OVP-relay located over the fuse box. They like to go. Symptoms match. All the best, Dokta |

I think he means the idle control valve.
If you stand infront of your motor, and you call the aircleaner nut in the center your center, then its around 7 o'clock and about a foot from there. I'm pretty sure there is a thread about it in the last few days worth of posts, along with a picture. Or use FastLane to drill down to your model...it's listed under "fuel injection" ... they show you a pic there...Yours probably has a paper label, and is a little dirtier. The elec. connecters would be facing away from the center of the motor. hope this helps a little... |
