190E 2.3 stalling

I have a 1992 190E 2.3 (8v), and it runs fine. It starts very well in cold, but if I don't leave the engine running for at least 15-30secs, the card stalls the first time I press the clutch (it doesn't keep the idle).
What can be the cause?

Thanks!

The USA 1991-93 190E 2.3(only MB with that system) uses a "heating element" for the intake manifold! IF that unit doesn't operate then cold running(1st minute) can be a problem!

The system uses a special ignition switch, relay, temp switch, & the heating element. HAVE that system checked for correct operation!

My car is from Belgium. Do you think it includes that system?
Why can that be a problem (apart from the annoy, of course?) The car runs perfect after that? Is there something that can go bad due to this failure (if this is what is wrong, or course)?

Thanks for the soon response.

By looking at the "euro" parts catalog I've found that all (LHD) 1990-93 190E 2.3's have the intake heater system. WHEN you start the engine & the engine is cold, the heater should come on & stay on until the sensor in the waterpump reaches 60C.

A lot of thanks.
Is that switch the "thermo-time-switch" or that's another thing? Is it one of the switches located near the thermostat, screwed to the water pipes? If not, could you tell me where it is in order to check if it works?

Best regards

Off/on switch in the drivers side of the WATERPUMP.
