Do W124 springs fit on a W123??
Hi everyone
I found some Jamex springs with part number 2250 at a local shop at a very cheap price.. I think they are for a Mercedes W124. The thing is that mine is a W123 and I need to lower it.. Do you think they will fit? Should I take them and check, or is it a bad idea? Please help! Thanks Patrick |
NO, they aren't even close! Springs from a W116 chassis will fit the W123

:( ok then
may i ask what is so different about them? their spring rate etc or the physical dimensions? i saw them but i couldnt tell if they were similar or not by heart. |
Different suspension in a W124 than a W123-
Complete waste of money. What thickness are your spring pads? That's the place to start for lowering the car. Pulling springs requires a Special compressor designed with Mercedes cars in mind. If your going to that much trouble-I'd make darn sure the bushings and lower ball joint were replaced. Michael |
my spring pads are 2-nub front and rear. and the front is very very high. i can get my fist between the tire and the fender without touching anything.
i already replaced the lower balljoints and upper control arms and also the upper and lower swaybar bushings. which was quite a bit of work with the brake booster still in place! i have a feeling that my springs are the special type for countries with bad roads. i will try to find some standard springs to see if it will sit lower. i already ordered the 1 nub pads. |
