Make sure you don't have your parking brake engaged. ;)
Other than that, don't be timid.............beat the heck out of the rotor to get it off the hub.

even if you disengage the parking brake, be aware of how to adjust the parking brake.

Looking at the rear hub somewhere between eleven and two o:clock - I forget which - use a halogen lamp to peek through the lug holes. You'll have to rotate the hub a bit in the range I described above and shift your gaze a bit also.

Your looking for a toothed wheel with the teeth of the wheel facing you. Rotating that toothed wheel with a screw driver you can either loosen or tighten the emergency brake. You'll have to play with it to find out which directions tightens and loosens.

To get the rotor off simply loosen the emergency brake by loosening the toothed wheel. ( once loose you may have to bang rotor off with hammer )
To get the proper tightening when finishing up and new rotor is on tighten up toothed wheel till rotor is hard to turn, then back off just till rotor turns free.

Once in the car, when you press on emergency pedal it should take within ten clicks of depressing the pedal till it tightens and can hold the car.

The above post is very important to read!

Beyond that, and assuming that you will change the pads, liberally go into the crack between the rotor and hub with liquid wrench, and then walk away for an hour. The cuss words are floating somewhere over Asia from when I did this on my 560 last spring. It did take some pounding - even AFTER pulling in the emergency brake shoes.

I have found hitting all around the edge of the rotor also helps. Someone once told me to expect to take about 100 blows of a hammer. Often they come off around 40-50 depending on the corrosion between the two and how long they have been on.

Also, carefully coat the mating surfaces with a VERY sparing, thin application of anti-seize. Next time they will almost fall off.

Pounding on the rotor seems to have loosened up the hub, is this possible?
The rotor still does not want to come off? Help!

you've taken off the hub retaining screw? held on with a 5mm hex.

does the rotor feel as though when you pull it away from the hub it pulls back in as though by a spring? if that is the case then you have to loosen the emergency brake by it's adjusment screw in the hub.

If you know that you've released everything that holds on the rotor, a serious hard hit with a heavy hammer may be needed.

Thanks Ethan that is exactly what it feels like, I'll get to it today.
Thanks again, kchemers
Yes I did take the retaining screw out!

Ethan wanted to thank you for the help, did the rotors today, didnt take 45 minutes for both. FYI the driver side is at 2 oclock and the passenger side is at 11 o'clock. Rotors came right off after I loosened the parking brake.
Thanks again
