Pulling 300TE engine
Due to an argument between #2 connecting rod and my engine block, I'll be replacing the engine in my '90 300TE. Those of you with experience, which do you think is easier- pulling the engine and trans together, or seperating them and just pulling the engine?
Thanks-- Dan Erickson |
Engine with trans!! OF course a good engine hoist with a pivoting type of engine cradle is required!

Wire Dog Come-A-Long
I just parted out a 1990-300E with 95K.....I used a chain in front and a wire dog come a long(about 10 dollars) at the back of the engine...it is the cheapest way to go....but by all means remove the trans with the engine....It will save you many hours of frustration. Jim

Sixto-Wire Dog Come-a Long
It is a simple come a long that uses a very small cable instead of a chain...Ironworkers call them wire dog some a long..but it is such a low cost tool and it lets you adjust the back of the engine as you remove the engine/trans and when you need a tilt....Jim
