sunroof problems
 

i have a 1984 mercedes-benz 300D with a power sunroof.
the problem is it opens fine however when i go to close it it makes a grinding noise and i have to push it close with my hand.
i think the motor is shot, however im having trouble removing it from the car. how do i remove the "shafts" from the motor, so i can take the sunroof motor out of the car?

Recently had the same problem and it was the cable was chewed up down at the motor end...Search for R+R of the sunroof and cable and check the cable. I got a new one at the dealer for around $100..............
