If it comes back saying too much oil again, I would remove some. If it was overfilled, it will lead to the crank hitting the oil in the pan and foaming of the oil.

had the same problem on our 2002 C240.( is your car really a 2000?)
car has to be level with wheels facing straight ahead. When checking after using the car and engine at operating temp, wait five minutes to let oil drain down and then measure. The computer can read either O.K. or Perfect. When driving the car it can also send out an oil alert warning, and also a malfunction. You can check computer display to see if it is storing a malfunction. As ALi said if it warns again have oil sucked out. I think the dealers put in slightly too much oil. When I do the oil change I have no problem, I fill the sump a quart and a half low. I take a couple of readings with the dash computer and it will tell me to add 1 quart and I do so with no further issues. |
