Odometer
 

The odometer stopped working last week on my 87 SL. After doing a search, I pulled the speedo and checked the odometer gears as mentioned in several articles. The gears are not slipping on the shaft, are not worn, and drive each other freely when turned by hand. Is there anything else that I can check, repair or is it time to send the unit out for professional repair? The unit only has 56,500, but after all is 18 years old. It is the electronic unit.
