Is my engine with Vanos?
I've been asked if my M111 engine was with or without Vanos... I know both were made, but I want to make sure... my guess was that I don'T have vanos on my car.

I believe VANOS is a name made up by BMW for their variable-valve-timing engines, and so you will only find it on a BMW. Your car might have its own Mercedes version of VANOS, however.. maybe someone else knows Russ |
Vanos IS a BMW term for variable cam timing.
The M111 engine does have variable intake camshaft timing. Only an on/off system. |
