300dt tranny help
Hello gents glad to see everyone is still here at this site. I have a 83 300DT with a sick tranny I started having trouble several months ago. When it woul sometime drop in and out of gears or not go out of first gear. ( Always seem to happen when I was going to work. Now I have drained the fluid (Torque Converter too). The fluid has a slight burned smell, and a small amount of gray sludge at the bottom of the pan. No parts fell out. I did find that the cooler line had a leak in it requiring repair (Done). I am in Ga now returning to NC. Would like to drive it home, sell it and perhaps get another. Anything I should check while I have the pan off????
