m104 swap questions

I have a 91' 190e 2.6 that may have a burned out engine....(its being inspected as I type this). I have been considering doing an engine swap for a while now, and so this would seem to be the logical time to do it if my 2.6 engine really is gone. So, i have pretty much settled on an m104 swap

over on the 190rev site 2phast (i think you post here too right?) clued me into looking at the m104.908 (i believe thats the code) from a 90-93' 300SL. The power rating is perfect for my needs but I have some major questions for some of you who might have specific knowledge about these engines and/or this swap

1) I know they are both CIS-E engines, and I'm just wondering what parts from the 2.6 are not compatible with the m104? I heard the ECU will work, and that the fuel system should work too. Anything big that I'm missing that will cause problems??

2) Transmission to use.....I have thought about the 2.3-16v 5-spd, but there may be others too. I really want a manual, so I'm wondering what problems I might run into there

If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it!! Oh yeah, this is also my first post on this forum, so hello everyone!

I believe the 3.0 liter M104.990 from 1990-1992 300CE's is also a direct swap. It uses the same CIS-E as your 2.6.
