Here is the original thread...

Have you checked the fuses? Do they give the same voltage on both sides of the fuse? Have you checked the climate control pushbutton unit?

fuse holder deformed from heat maybe?

this happened to me resulting in intermittent then total failure of blower. Not obvious unless you look closely at fuse holder.

Mine's a 124 so probably not relevant for you but as you are desperate thought I'd mention it anyway.

Before replacing ANY electrical component, you should use a voltmeter to ensure that it has voltage supplied to it. Replacing parts without proper diagnosis is an expensive habit to develop. It is cheaper to take your car to someone and pay them for proper diagnosis than it is to just start throwing parts at it.

There is a fuseholder in the area of the master cylinder that has a large strip fuse inside. As mentioned earlier, check for voltage on both sides of that fuse. Don't look at it and declare it to be good. This fuse can develop a small crack along the end that will render it open, but look good. You can determine that a fuse is bad by looking at it, but you can't determine that it is good by looking at it. In other words if it's blown in two, then it's obviouis that it is blown, but it can look good but not be flowing current.

Good luck,

there is power on both sides of the strip fuse and compressor doesn't engage either...
Just warm air when u drive down the road

Is there a way to bypass the control button panel?

at the klima relay?

This did it on my 95 E300 W124 - remove Klima relay and bridge contacts 5 and 7 (+12 to compressor output). No idea if this applies to your model it might give you an approach to investigate.

I think I have already tried that and it engages the compressor but does nothing for the blower.....
