How To Operate Sunroof Tilt ??? And other general sunroof questions...
I was playing around with the buttons on a 1987 500SEC today and I could not figure out how to get the sunroof to tilt up. What was I doing wrong?
Also, when opening the sunroof it stopped about 3/4 of the way through, leaving about 5-6 inches of the sunroof exposed that did not slide back. Is this normal or should it open all the way? Thank you in advance!! JR |

Also, How do you turn on the fog lights? Thanks.

5-6 inches of exposed sunroof probably normal.
What does your owner's manual say about the tilt feature? I'm guessing your car doesn't have that feature. If you don't have a manual, call 800-FOR MERC and order one.

Thanks. Is there a seperate button for the tilt or are they both incorporated into one switch? This car only has one sunroof switch.

If it's like my 190 you push up on the rear of the sunroof button to tilt it up, and pull down on the button to close.
The fog lights are activated by pulling the knob out when the rotary light switch is at the parking or headlight position. Thus, you can run the foglights without the headlights being on. You can't do that with most cars- the headlights have to be on to turn on the foglights. Duke |

Not to nag, but again, if I were you, I'd get an owner's manual ASAP. There's a weath of info in there including emergency procedures you really want to have handy (like how to close the sunroof in the event that the motor stops working...)
