94 124 M 104 TE no start...

Strange. After using her for a few minutes yesterday, let it sit for a few hours. When I got in, started right up, but no instruments (no tach, fuel gauge etc. Clock, speedo, odo good.) Other electrics OK. Thought I'd drive it a few minutes, and see if it cleared up. When I parked it in the garage at home, no restart. Instrument cluster still out, maybe one warning light on. Starter will not engage, in P or N. Seems to have plenty of electrical juice, but starter will not engage. Just a coincidence with the instrument cluster, and a faulty starter, or are they related? Thanks for any help, she's stuck in the garage and need the transportation!

Have you checked the voltage protection relay? I would really look to that for a complete shutdown. It can be found just to the right of the battery and I believe it will have a small fuse on the top of it.

It is not a total shutdown....

Only the starter and insturment cluster. OVP was replaced 2-3 weeks ago (precautionary), wiring harness has been done. What fuses?

Open the black rectangular box in the engine compartment. It is on the driver's side. Inside the lid for the box, you will the information for fuses. Read through the text and find the fuse in question.

Sometimes these fuses look good but are not working. Replace the fuse in question with a good one.

Uh, yeah.

I meant was there one in particular that might control any starter function. I know that 3 and 10 are usually related to instruments. I've just got a feeling that the insturment situation is a coincidence to the starter problem.

Have someone tap the starter as you turn the key
