How Much ?

Took my 87 300E to an independent to diagnose dying battery. To diagnose alternator problem and replace with new Bosch alternator he charged me for 2.5 hours labor. Does that seem reasonable? Don't even ask me what he charged for alternator.

sounds about right, Im not sure of your exact model's time, but 1.0 to diagnose and 1.5 to replace the alt would fit the bill...

That's fair but hopefully you did just need a $50 regulator and 15 min to replace it.
