300E console illumination
 

Where is the bulb that lights up the bottoms on the centre console?
Is it the same as the shifter panel? should be be a light bulb?

Each switch on the center console has its own illumination.

How do none of the switch have any light?
what gives?

On my 86 300E with 180,000 miles on it... I think I had light on only one switch before before I got a set of replacements from another member on the parts forum now only my rear passenger window switch is dark (still don't have shifter light)

I'm not sure if the leds in the switches can be replaced... maybe i'll open up one and see when I get a chance...

yes, they all went out at once, center console light switches and rear window switches do not have light.

fuse #3?

checked #3 fuse, nothing wrong with it, its not broken, nor is there corrosion anywhere that would interfere with the circuit.
anything else I can check?

The bulb for the shifter light is a 12v bulb right?

Do you mean the switches above the radio as well as the switches between the seats or which ones specifically?
Do the functions of the affected switch’s function?

All the switches that should have illumination do not work.
The switches above the radio, the vents, the headlight switch, the back seat window switches...Everything.
My car is VERY dark when driving at night, the only light inside my car at night that works are the dash lights.

They do not detract from the functioning of any of the switches, everything works, just no back light.
