Can M102 2.3L injectors be rebuilt or cleaned?

I was wondering if there is any way to service the fuel injectors on the M102 engines? Can they be disassembled to be cleaned or can you just soak them in carb cleaner. The engine has a minor stumble when cold and I am looking for ways to clear that up so I wanted to start with the injectors. The FSM only shows what the spray patterns should look like and nothing more about servicing them.

If there is RUST in the injector then little OR no hope for cleaning! Otherwise blowing air thru them will clean "dirt" from them!

I guess there's not much you can do with them other than replace them. What could I expect to pay for a set?

They are quite expensive - well over $100 each, maybe $150 - you just need to price them. I don't think they fail very often. There is a company that cleans, refurbishes and tests them for $12 each - to me a much better way to go although your car will be down for a week or so. It's at cruzinperformance.com. I was very pleased with the service.

MB part number 000-078-56-23 with list of $52

Bosch number 0 437 502 047

Try Fastlane with those numbers. I would think you can buy a new set for less than $125 total!!!

I replaced mine and it was about $120 for all four! Not from dealer! Also not much change when replacing. I have talked to an MB Tech that said they almost never used to replace them. But they are just a little spring and all in there! Try some fuel injector cleaner first. What I did was put a full bottle of techron in a half tank. Run it for a bit to clear the fuel line and get the mix in there then let it sit over night so the cleaner can do some work. I have also soaked them in Carb Cleaner for about 30-60 miuntes before as well and tried to blow carb cleaner through them. I have a perfectly good used set of 4 for the M102. I just left my new ones in there. I no longer need them and they just sit in my garage with the many other parts I bought and replaced that did not do a darn thing! I can sell them to you if you want to try them out before dumping $120+ on something that may not work. Sell you all 4 shipped for $30!

Got my fours mixed up - I was thinking 111 motor injectors. The injector cleaner service is a good deal on more expensive injectors but not really viable on the older 103/102 injectors.

I have to check the part#'s to see if mine are the same. I have a Euro version of the 102 in my 230CE. The engine I have is a 102.980. I found one part from the CIS system that needed to changed was different than the 102 used in the 190's. I could only get it from the stealer but and it really wasn't that much more than what I would have paid for the similar part at the World-Pac distributor I use.
