95 S320 - Replacing alternator

HI,
I need help. I am replacing the alternator by myself to save some bucks. I thought it would be easy like others cars. I have 95 S320. I have the alternator unbolted but can not find room to remove it from the car. I tried to pull it from behind, no luck, from the front, not a luck. I don't think I want to remove the center say bar which blocks its way.
Please help me if anyone know.

Also to remove the fan clutch, the fan clutch bolt on the top of the clutch,
do I turn clockwise or counterclockwise to remove the fan clutch?

Thank you
:rolleyes2

More the sway bar: remove the 2 brackets holding the sway bar to the frame rails and displace the bar downward; this will offer sufficient clearance to access the alternator.

Is the sway bar under pressure? Will I be able to push it back in place easily?

Chinda, I can't help you with the alternator, but the fan clutch bolt is a normal thread. Turn it counter-clockwise to loosen it. I have a tutorial on my web page outlining fan clutch removal. It's specific to a V12 engine, but most of it will apply. Click on the link at the bottom.

The sway bar can easily be moved.
