W202 plastic behind front wheel -how to remove?
Hi,
On our 1997 c-class. There is a plastic moulding piece running along the side of the car at bumper height on front quarter panel & both fr & rr doors. To get to a stone chip and potential rust spot, I would like to remove the horizontal plastic piece on the front wing behind the front wheel. Not sure whether it is attahced with plastic fastneners which I can just pull/pry it off or is it held on with adhesive. Any hint to remove it wth minimal damage to the metal & possible clips & fastener would be much appreciated. cf |

moulding removal
I removed this moulding on my 98 C230 a few months ago. There is a bolt on the underside of the car, near the front of said moulding which needs to be removed, I think it is a 10mm. Once this is removed there are 3 plastic clips which hold the moulding to the fender. You'll have to pry a little to remove these so be careful not to scratch anything. I had to replace the clips on mine but if you are careful I think you could re-use them.
Best of luck... Matt |

Thanks Matt.
After fishing around a bit I found It only takes a brave `pull' to take it off. No bolts, only 3 fasteners. MB must have made some change in later models. And I am glad I did not break any of those dreaded plastic clips. Thks again. cf |
