123 Seat...How much are you "tilting back" your seat bottom?
Like many of you, I find the seats in my 1985 300DT somewhat, or even a lot, uncomfortable.
The seat back is good, but the seat bottom is: too hard (it's "bouncy" but not soft...firm is very good if it's done right) too flat too short It looks like the seat bottom can be tilted back by undoing the floor bolts at the front of the seat, putting some washers in there, and buying longer bolts to resecure the seat. So... How much tilt are you guys using? Are you using washers to prop up the seat? Thanks... |
Ever since I started driving 32 years ago, I've tilted the seat in nearly every car I've had by modifying the floor attach points. I'm 6'4" and tilting puts more support in the thigh area and takes pressure off the heels and butt.

If the seat bottom sinks way down when you sit on it, you might want to consider the pool noodle treatment as well as adjusting the angle. It can make a world of difference and its cheap to do, presuming you don't pay for the labor.
