'98 300TD Rear window, pax side
I also posted this REQUEST FOR HELP under GENERAL... The window dropped into the door. After removing the panel, noted motor working, but "rail" broken and wiring harnesses screwed up. How difficult would this repair be (as in, could I do it in my garage), and are the parts readily available??
Thank you |

Common problem with the 210 chassis. Do a search for window regulator. Not a hard job, but you need a rivet gun for three rivets. Cost is about $75 for the part.

'98 E300 Rear window Problem
Thank you for your response. Could you please explain the need for the rivet gun? I didn't see the need for it, but I obviously missed something...

There are three rivets that hold the regulator in the rear, four in the front I think. The old rivets have to be drilled out to get the regulator out. The new regulator gets new rivets which you ought to order with the regulator.
