Angry Stupid F**ing Techs 190E LEAKS!

Took my 1990 190E to FRANKS MERCEDES in LAS VEGAS to get a waterpump
replaced 600 bucks later I get my car back. That evening there was a power steering leak (NEW!) took it back to them the said I need a Head gasket and never spoke about the PS leak!! 1300 bucks for that!!. I know the head gasket in not leaking as I am not a dope and I have been working on this car forever and its fine.

Soooooooooo I took it to another garage and 3 hours later they tell me my transmission cooling lines are leaking, the power steering, and the rear main seal. When the guy was taking to me he knew I knew something about my car and became very figgity, I dont theing this kid wanted to screw me, I just dont think he knew what the hell he was looking at!

Neither of these places cleaned the engine to see where the leaking was actually coming from!! Im not a tech and even I would do that. There is no way to see where the leak is through all that friggin caked oil..real dummies

These guys are all AFU.

A day ago all I had was a leaking waterpump and a slight oil leak from the front passanger side of the motor.

Here is what is going on, there is an oil leak on the passanger side of the engine. the leak is high in the front not low. Its buried so I cant see where its actually coming from.

I checked the oil NO WATER, NO TEMP CHANGES, NO COOLANT LOSS (until the water pump broke that it)

Also there is NOW a leak under the PS pump, and it was running down the line and dripping.

Does anyone here have any ideas where the oil is coming from...?

Any advise on where in vegas to take it!! Anyone LIVE HERE!!!

Replace your oil filler cap gasket (or the cap itself). Oil will run out at speed and then over the front of the engine. Hard to spot, looks like a valve cover gasket leak. You may need a new valve cover gasket, too.

You may also have a front cover leaking, this is a known problem on the M103. The M102 front cover is different (shaft drive dizzy rather than dizzy on the end of the cam), but I'll bet the cover still leaks.

Could also be a bad head gasket, they will leak oil near the pressure passages when they get old and flaky.

Thx for the reply.

It really looks like the timing chain cover is leaking.. I found the thread on how to replace it, i'm happy. I will have to check the other leaks, they dont seem that bad and they seem like they are "line" in origin..

Anyway, I will keep everyone informed on where this goes!
