300E badge fell off... How to remove residue?

Well, I always contemplated debadging my 300E given the work I plan to do to it (plus the plastic emblem was extremely weathered), and a few days ago the badge fell off on its own (I found it "hinged" from the last bit of adhesive that still had any life in it). Well, now I've got a black 300E sillhouette on the back of my car, and I'm trying to figure out how to remove it. I've tried GooGone, but it doesn't seem to do too much. Does anyone have any recommendations for cleaning it off?

I used white polishing compound and then rewaxed afterwards and it removed 98% of the shadow. Some remains because the paint fades unevenly due to sun exposure. You might also try posting this question to the detailing area, maybe they have some hints.

any polish. but if that doesn't work, get #83 from Meguiars followed by #80. meanwhile, do the whole car. you'll be ecstatic with the results

Thanks for the tips... I'm not sure I'd do the whole car, because it has had its ass whooped by the oxidation fairy (the roof and the bonnet have virtually no clearcoat left). The paint overall could use a whole lot of TLC... I'm just not sure I'd want to devote that much time into it at this point in my life . It really needs a new paintjob, along with a bit of body work (namely the front quarter panels thanks to the previous owner(s)).

It's like that, but add a few straight years of South Texas sun exposure to it and you'll have a good idea... The clearcoat is actually flaking off (If I rub it, it's like I get salt on my hand). And with regard to the ricey remark... If you knew me, it wouldn't be a concern . I'm sticking with the factory color.
