ATTN "Hattaras" and "WANT 71" - 300SDL questions
 

Hattaras and WANT 71. I noticed you both have 300SDL's. We have been talking about me getting the local 87' 300SDL, but I was thinking that the owner was offered more than I wanted to pay. You have seen the photos of the car and it appears to be in very well cared for conditions. Now it may be possible that I may be able to get the car after all, but still not sure.

I did a search on this car and really did not come up with much about the "trouble spots", but since you both have this model, can you tell me what problems (major) you have experienced with your cars, if any? Is it true that these cars are prone to blown head gaskets? He said it was not overheating, but I was wanting to know if there was any signs I should look for. He said it drips a couple of drops of oil on the garage floor per week, but never had to add any between the 3K mile changes. Any info appreciated.
