Question Center Dash Vent Connector W124 - look at the pics

I took out my center dash vent, because the light bulb is burnt and the center wheel wasn't working. When I went to install it, I couldn't seem to remember how it connects to the back connector. I'm not sure it was even connected

Here is the center vent:

Here is where it goes:

This is the back of the vent which has a connector:

This is the connector in the center dash where "I think" it's supposed to connect:

Any idea guys

BTW is the Center Vent Thumbwheel Light part number 000 825 00 94?

You are correct. just make sure the gears are meshed correctly so that it will open and close, then once you get it back in you can adjust from there.

I just finished going through my parts bin and found this screw that I think might be the one I'm looking for. The one for the center vent. Can anyone confirm this:

HEX Head

Also I found a light bulb that might be for the vent:

It says 12v 0.4w on the bulb. Is this the kind of bulb that should be used for the vent?

I just found this list from Sylvania and found everything but the one bulb I need:

right, that's the hex key piece that lets the wheel move the slats. the one that I could not get the angle of it and the piece in back of the vent housing that it attaches to (which is on a little swivel so it can go up and down) to line up right. that looks like the bulb too.

I bought the bulb today from the dealer at a total cost of $1.08 and it works fine. I didn't get a chance to put in the vent. I'll sewe if I have time tomorrow. The bulb says "OS n3v 12/1.2" on it. Here is a pic:

You'll need a allen/hex key to re-install it- same one you used to remove it if it was connected!

You need to line it up with the hole as you put the unit back in- so make sure it's facing toward you and not hanging down- make sure the screw engages the hole and before you've pushed the whole unit all the way in tighten up the hex screw a turn or 2.

Then you should be able to put the whole unit back in, then adjust the screw so the flap is open/closed corresponding to the wheel on the centre vent. Otherwise you have no control over your fresh-air amount into the cabin.

Thank your lucky stars you don't have a passenger side airbag- this has to be removed to get at the side screw holding the centre vent in!

Having a heck of a time trying to adjust the screw!
I can get the screw in place easily and the wheel turns up and down, but the only problem is that the wheel isn't openeing and closing the vent. It only opens the vent a very slight amount.

I took a few pics but it's hard to take clear ones. Here yu can see that the screw is in place.

I thought maybe with the vent opened or closed using the wheel would make a difference when putting the screw in or by pushing the flap to the open or closed position would make a difference also, so I ended up taking the screw out and to make this experience more special than it already is, the screw fell into the shifter gate!!!!!

Here it is being puled out

I reinstalled the vent and it it doesn't work the way it's supposed to still. It's half opened and the wheel is hard to turn.

I don't know what's worse...trying to fix this or paying the dealer $100.

Why can't I be chosen for or something like that.

So much work because of a small

Like I said, you would regret trying to change that stupid light bulb just like I did. I would just set it so the vents are always open (I don't recall ever closing mine) and fergidaboutit.

If you tighten that screw more than a few turns, the wheel won't operate the door properly and it will be very hard to turn. Tighten it enough such that it has smooth and full control of the door, but not beyond that.

I'll try that tomorrow and report back.
Thank you.
