Can I get a # please (alternator help)

I have a 1994 c280 I am trying to replace the voltage regulator on. The alternator number is 009 154 0202 and the regulator says 1197 311 213. I check a number of web sites and they show the number as 1197 311 242. Local mercedes dealer says both numbers are good numbers. Are they interchangeable? Which one is right? I dont want to order the wrong part and mercedes says the 213 is $97 and a special order part. If I order the 242 part elseware it is around $27. What should I do

Thanks in advance for the help!
