1987 560SEL bogs down
 

I got this car last Sept. mileage is 210 000 Km,s. In order to pass the emissions test the previous owner had new plugs, distributer cap, rotor and ignition wires installed. The car idles nice at about 600 RPM and drives real nice. The only issue I have with it is it seems not to be able to exceed 3500 RPM. can anyone offer advice as to what the problem could be.

Could be a stopped up catalytic converter.

Sounds like one of the two fuel pumps is not helping the other.
