Please just need a NUT ( sunroof)

As previously posted and pleaded for help -- I need to replace the nut that goes on the sunroof motor assembly shaft located behind the plastic nut used to manually operate the sunroof. I went just about everywhere with the striped nut to get it replaced but no luck. Mistakenly called Mercedes thinking that surely they can sell me a replacement or at least tell me what the thread specs are --- BUT after waiting a couple of days their response was - to buy a whole new sunroof motor assembly at a cost of more then $800.00 Ca. ---- Mercedes Corporate service is -- well NUTS. :(
Can anybody please tell me the nut specs or sell me a replacement??? There must be at least one burned out sunroof motor out there with this nut in place.

You should try a different dealship for sure, just walk-in dont call...ask to see the schematics. You can buy each individual nut/bolt on the car. Goto the dealship explain where the part is located the parts tech will pull up a schematic of the entire sunroof area and then you can tell him which nut you want.

Yes the parts department at a dealership in Ajax, Ontario were excellent ! Shadi the parts manager even printed out for me to keep the sunroof schematics -- however they show only the motor assembly as a unit with the exception of the relay, plastic nut cover and mounting screws.

Tino,

Have no idea how you stripped that nut, but I have one setting on the desk next to the keyboard. PM me an address and I'll pop it into an envelope.

Tino,
I got your emails, but I don't see the address you said you cut and pasted. The best thing to do is PM the adress to me, and I'll put the nut in an envelope and mail it. I go right by the post office every day so it's no problem.

;) Received the sunroof nut – and the roof works as it should. Thank you very much for going out of your way to help me.

Tino,
Glad to help a neighbor to the North. Not all of us Americans voted for our A hole President.

Was that really necessary to degrade the president? Really!

So only liberals who voted for the other guy would send a plastic nut to Canada? It was a nice gesture and a STUPID thing to say.

I didn't degrade him. He degraded himself!

:( Come on now - leave him alone - I hope that this is the end of politics on a Technical auto Board.
