I changed the lip seal awhile back and now the check engine light comes on intermittently. The car still runs great. Does any one have a way of getting the codes,with out buying a very expensive obd-1?
I might just put in a new wire harness and hope that cures it. How much are they and a good place to buy one?

You do not have to buy an OBD1 scanner for CE lamp code retrieve cuz your car has a built-in one under the hood waiting for you...
Check/Search archieves ... it is all there ..location,procedure, codes , etc....
