Is the track available

at Hampton that weekend. I know how mine runs in the 1/4 mile - having raced in imports only at the Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, Ga. I would like to try it on the banks at Atlanta Motor Speedway. I could see if my speed limiter works or not.

The track in Commerce GA should be open in June.
When we get closer, I will have to get people to help with coordination.

BTW. I think that all people and car brands are welcome!!! I have thought of selling multi-line to help ramp us up quicker.

Benzmac,

Turncoat! Turncoat!<g> Just kidding, you've got to make a living.

It would be nice if you could find a quality tech from each of the German make dealerships for the brand diversity without giving up expertise of the breed.

Best of luck with the new venture. I'll bet your really excited at this point.

Everyone,

Don't be worried about being the only one to show up from your state. We live in a mobile society these days. I expect this gathering to include folks from many walks of life, many ethnicities, many religiions and from many geographic areas. That's one of the things that will make it fun.

Georgia or bust,

According to the poll at the top of the home page, only 9 or 10 definite and 16 maybes for the opening! Maybe people haven't seen the poll.

Boy,

I'd love to attend Guys but I doubt school and work will afford the time-off. :(

If my situation changes, count me in! Now lets see, Washington State to Georgia, hummm. At 19 miles a gallon ....

Unfortunately I had to select a definite Maybe, depends on what happens with the TDY to Indy. But I already did the math, So. Cal to Atlanta @ 15 mpg (even though I expect better), 146 gallons one way. Already have the other half's OK too, all depends on Indy.

Request!!!

Well, as I start planning for the great AMG rally (Atlanta Mercedes Gathering), it occurs to me that my first order of business should be to check the "Good MB Shops" forum for trusted techs on the way out there. (LA->San Diego->Tucson->Dallas->Atlanta) The big cities have 1 or 2 techs mentioned, but does anybody along that route have any suggestions for the large gaps between Tucson/Dallas and Dallas/Atlanta?

LarryBible 01-26-2001 07:24 AM

JCE,

Are you being fecetious? I would think that an MB with 75K miles would be about as dependable as anything on the road. If it won't make it, nothing will.

Good luck,

Larry:
No, just pessimistic ;). Actually this looks like it has the potential of turning into an event with several California cars heading that way, if we all can arrange our schedules to make it happen. Mike Tangas, dtanesq, and myself so far have started talking about it, anyway.

As I was estimating expenses for the trip, I added in a small factor for "wear, tear, and repair", which got me thinking about the "where".

Of course, if Mike can make it, and you join us in Texas , our "reasonable probability" repair problems will be less of an issue, as I have more confidence in your's and Mike's abilities around a car than in my own. Then this would turn into a request for where to get OE parts inexpensively :D

Regards
