Just a bit concerned. Lately, when my car is fully warm and I put it in P or N, the oil pressure gauge doesn't rise up to full as quickly or smoothly as before. I hear a washing-machine like sound coming from the engine. My oil levels are fine and I don't seem to be losing any pressure when driving.
Due to some recent changes (fuel pump and some frayed wires replaced) I figured that the fuel/air mixture just needs to be re set or is there a potentially bigger problem here? AARON ROCHARD 1976 230.4 W115 |
Has oil been changed since fuel pump failure?? Many times fuel will dilute the oil from f/p diaphram.

I had the same thing done on my car, but both pumps on 1987 560 SEL were changed out. Now, I get white smoke, when idle (warmed up also), and knocking on both banks of cylinders. Oil pressure is fine. The engine was refurbished about 50-60,000 miles ago and maintained. Can u tell me what I should look for, to remdy this?

No, I haven't change the oil since. Should I ?
On arriving home, tonight, I tried to listen to the engine for any sounds as well. It sounds as though I might have some exhaust leaking from underneath my car. I had a scrape with a speed bump last week. Could this be the effect of a leaking resonator maybe? AARON ROCHARD W115, 1976 230.4 |
I have also since noticed some oil leaking from the oil filter/pump area recently, but have yet to get the car on a hoist.

Just noticed the car almost stalled on me when the nose was pointed down hill (at idle)
Any ideas ? I'm heading straight to the mechanic on Monday and frankly, I'm worried. AARON ROCHARD W115 1976 230.4 |
