Sunroof wont close -- AGAIN.
Thank you again to Peter for sending me the nut for my sunroof motor assembly.
But I have a problem again and perhaps somebody knows the fix. After installing the new clutch nut the roof worked fine - it raised and lowered and had no problems opening and closing part way. - the sunroof worked so nice and smooth I opened it all the way and now again it will not close under power. I have to manually close it and it will just open under power. When I press the switch to close I cannot hear anything from the motor. I fooled around with the adjustment on the motor assembly (the plastic wheel where in German it says up/down) but no difference. Any ideas? ALSO the power plug to the motor assembly has several wires - does anybody have the schematic so that I can try to direct apply power to activate the relay to close the roof. Thank you again to Peter (autozen) for instructions on how to set up the sunroof -- I did what you said and yes it was off but it is set now. The sunroof still does not close under power. In addition to lubrication --this is what I did so far. 1. set up the time as per your instructions. 2. Checked that the cabin switch works by using a voltmeter at the motor connection - and it does - it switches polarity from the close to the open. 3. The relay clicks when the cabin switch is pressed to open and close . 4. From the relay there are three plugs that go to the time wheel switches- when I completely disconect them the roof still opens under power but again will not close. ( hope I put them back in order) 5. When I manualy from the trunk tilt up the sunroof it will go down with the cabin switch but continue to open. I wonder if it could be the switches that are activated by the time wheel. ----ALSO as a last resort--I wonder if I should just cut the wires to the motor and try to make it open and close by just reversing polarity -- what do you think? Considering on purchasing a good used sunroof motor assembly - can anyone tell me if it would be a straight forward installation - how is the cable fitted? |
