hatch door strut replacement, E320 Wagon
 

Is there any simple way to replace the struts on the hatch of a '98 E320 Wagon? At first glance it appears I will need to remove the headliner, at least part of it, to reach whatever is fastening the head of the strut to the car. I appreciate the advice, thank you,
