High beams w202

So for the past couple of months, the high beam switch on my 98 c280 hasn't worked. Before it stopped working altogether, it got to the point where I would have to press really hard foward to get them to come on. Then the high beam switch just stopped working completely. I was able to deal with it beacause I could just hold the flasher back when i needed high beams. But now the flashing switch stopped working. Is the switch broken? Everything else still works on the stalk, just the high beams and flasher doesnt work.

ANyone have this problem before? I just dumped alot of money into the AC and was hoping this would be simple and something I could do myself. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

PS - Does anyone know if you can pass inspection in Texas with high beams that don't work?

I just bought a 2000 C280. Could you describe the AC problem and the solution?

Thanks,

It was just a really simple problem. They found a leak, fixed it and recharged the system, and it turned out there was ANOTHER leak. Two recharges worth of r134 and parts and labor got pretty expensive.

Is the combination switch hard to replace?
