help with strut replacement, E320 wagon, '98
 

Can anyone lend advice on R&R strut for hatch on the e320 wagon? Do I need to use a sawsall on the car roof to get at the head of the strut, or might there be an easier way? It looks like when the assemble this wagon, they began with the hatch strut and built everything else around it...
