201 2.3-16 Steering Gear Rebuild
 

Hi,
I am new to this site and am really impressed by the quality of the threads and advise available.

I have a bit of an unusual request: My car is right hand drive and needs the steering box rebuilt. I have managed to pick up a low mileage left hand drive 2.3-16 steering gear box in perfect condition.

Now the question: can I pull the internals (complete worm/ball package, pitman sector,etc) from the LH drive casing and install them into the RH drive casing reusing the RH drive pitman arm? I am handy with a wrench but don't want to pull them both apart and find that the LH & RH drive internals are incompatable.

Will greatly appreciate help on this.
