Color of MB Coolant
I had the dealer change the coolant when I had my 1998 E320 in for servicing recently. The coolant is now the same color as Prestone, ie, Greenish Yellow. Is that the correct color for MB Coolant? Invoice lists 1 Q-1-03-0002 Anti-Freeze $28.75

I just went out and looked at it again with a strong flashlight in a mostly dark garage. It is mostly yellow, in fact kind of a golden yellow. No sediment or particles.

Historically the coolant has been a very pale yellow, but I believe the very newest coolant is a blue-ish color.

Part # Q 1 03 002 color of beer
The coolant part number of Q 1 03 0002 is correct.
If you can remember the color of a good beer that's it. |
Actually, I've always thought of it as the color of a good beer after it's been processed by me! :)

I know in the US you guys have had a yellowish coolant. Here in Oz ours has always come from Germany and it is a very deep blue. Even when mixed with water it is still very blue. There is nothing green or yellow about it and it is easily distinguished from the common green ones. I had heard that the blue stuff was also possibly now available in the US.

On the new cars we get, its always the blue-green, the original coolant shipped in the car. The replacement is the yellowish one.
