I'm going to go look at a 1980 300td wagon in Ft. Lauderdale and need to take the car in for an inspection. I'm from Tampa and do not know any mechanics down there.

Also any info you may have on a 1980 300td stick shift would be greatly appreciated.

What should I look for? The car has just over 100k miles. I was told it is in mint condition inside and out.

I just called and talked to them. Tony at the shop was born in Spain but raised in Germany and specializes in the older MB (and other german cars).

They said they would charge $75 to test drive and check things out. To get a more detailed inspection would be another $115.

I use Precision Automotive in DelRey Beach. They are good and honest. It is about 1/2 hr north of Ft L.
