Seat

Now all I have to do is figure a way to get the seat out of the car without damaging the Leather top & plastic trim. :) Any ideas?  |
You can now afford to bend the seat back to gain clearence to the forward/backward motor.
Identify the motor wires on the new frame and hot wire into the seat motor to drive it forwards. Wire colors : (vi) Violet. (bl) Blue. (ge) green. (rt) Red. (br) Brown. I think the two thick wires are the main power to the motor...these are the Violet and the Blue both 1.5mm thick. The rest are 0.5mm thick. Switching the polarity on these two, should move the seat back or forward. BTW...When I am hot wiring motors this way, I use two very sharp pointed probes to pierce the insulation, wired from a seperate/spare battery. |
Solution to Seat Problem
Thanks to everyone for their help on this, especially dkveuro who put in a lot of time and effort explaining things to me..
The problem was twofold: 1. Their is a wiring problem outside the immediate seat area which will not allow the seat control to manipulate the seat, and 2. The motor which raises and lowers the bottom part of the seat is burned out and fryed the seat ecu. +++++++++++++++ The solution: I opted for wiring several bi-directional switches hidden under the front of the seat to operate the remaining functional motors. Thanks Again, Everyone :) :) :) :) :) |
Bob if you want to move the seat forward or back you can do this by powering up the motor at the seat. If your car has a seat memory the wires are purple and the other is blue . The motor is a DC motor which if you change your pos. and neg the motor will reverse. So make yourself two jumper wires ,one black about 14 gauge and the other red same gauge but put a 20 amp fuse into this wire. Now all you have to do is hot wire the motor. If it goes the wrong way just reverse the wires. hope this will help Dale

seat
Bob you can move the seat back or ahead with jumper wires to the motor wires. If the seat has a memory the wire colours are purple and other is blue. Power one neg and other pos . If the seat moves wrong direction reverse your jumper wires. If seat doesn`t move them you found your problem. Dale
