94 C280 - how to determine where coolant is leaking from

Is there an easy way to determine if it's my water pump or just a leaking hose without tearing things apart first?...I can't see where my leak is, I can see where it's coming from, should I be able to "feel" if it's coming out of the pump or if it's a connection?...It's a very dramamtic leak...I put my coolant in, nothing happened, when I topped it off with about 1/2 gallon of water it started running out and didn't stop for a while...
